The Emir of Bauchi, Rilwanu Adamu, has dispossessed former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, of his Jakadan Bauchi title.

This comes after hoodlums ambushed the convoys of the Emirs of Bauchi and Dass, Biliyaminu Othman, on their route to Mwari for the 21st anniversary of a late leader and crusader, Peter Gonto, on December 31, 2021.

At a press conference, the monarch, who was represented by the Galadiman Bauchi, Sa’idu Jahun, accused Dogara of not “sympathizing nor expressing any sense of regret” for what occurred to the Emirs of Bauchi and Dass.

He said;

 “More surprisingly, he did not sympathise nor showed any sign of remorse towards what happened to their Royal Highnesses, the Emirs of Bauchi and Dass.

“The Emirate Council, therefore, decided to suspend his title of Jakadan Bauchi until the determination of the case by the court.”

In other news, Abdulmalik Tanko, the proprietor of Noble Kids Academy in Kawaji, Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano state, has admitted to killing five-year-old pupil Hanifa Abubakar with rat poison. First Lady Aisha Buhari has supported the call for his execution.

Tanko, who confessed to kidnapping Hanifa in December 2021 and demanding a 6 million Naira ransom from her family, was paraded before the media on Friday, January 21. He claimed he killed and buried Hanifa because he was afraid he would be apprehended shortly.

Malam Abdallah Gadon Kaya, a Kano-based preacher, demanded that Tanko be murdered the same way he killed Hanifa in a video that has since gone viral. He believes the proprietor should be publicly executed, and that President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Abdullahi Ganduje are capable of doing so.

“His (Tanko’s) life is not more than this girl’s life, the way he took her life, his life should be taken also and let it be done publicly so that another person wouldn’t repeat such.”the cleric said

The First Lady had reposted the video on her Instagram page, expressing support for the cleric’s call.

”We are behind Mallam’s stance.”
